01
Glass vessels break in transit
A candle jar with no insert has room to move, and a heavy object with room to move will break. A snug corrugated or moulded pulp insert is the single control that brings damage rates down, and it costs far less than replacing broken orders.
02
Weight drives shipping cost
Filled candles are dense. Over-specifying board on a heavy product compounds the problem, so board grade should be specified against actual filled weight rather than defaulted upward for safety.
03
Gifting is most of the volume
Candles are bought as gifts more often than for personal use, and the peak is concentrated in Q4. Packaging that presents well without wrapping directly increases the average order value.
