Coffee packaging is a freshness problem before it is a branding problem. Roasted beans off-gas CO2 for days and oxidise on contact with air, so the pack has to vent one gas while blocking another.

Freshly roasted beans release CO2 that will swell or burst a sealed bag. A one-way degassing valve vents it while keeping oxygen out. Bagging without a valve means either waiting days to pack or accepting ruptured packs.

The multi-layer laminates that give coffee a long shelf life are not kerbside recyclable. Mono-material recyclable films exist and cost more with a shorter barrier life. It is a real trade-off, and we will quote both.

A subscription pack wants a letterbox-friendly profile and low shipping weight. A gift set wants a rigid or mailer box that presents multiple bags. Most roasters end up running both.
